Sources tell FOX 9 that 31-year old Brandon Keeler was stabbed to death in his second floor apartment. A friend describes Keeler as a pet lover who did not have any enemies.
The StarTribune reports:
Minneapolis police released few details about the case Sunday, but jail records show that a 31-year-old man who lived about a mile from Keeler in northeast Minneapolis was booked into the county jail about 6 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of murder.
Keeler, 31, was found dead about 5 a.m. that morning in his apartment building in the 1000 block of Lowry Avenue NE [between Polk and Taylor].
Hennepin County Jail records show Brian Jeffrey Miller (DOB: 9/28/1978) was received on a murder charge at approximately 6pm Saturday. Miller’s address is listed as “2946 ULYSSESS STREET NE (LIVES IN CAR NOW)”. He is in custody awaiting a judge to set bail.
A criminal background search revealed Miller has five convictions:
5/11/1999: DWI-Alcohol or Controlled Substance—Gross Misdemeanor
12/20/2000: Theft—Misdemeanor
11/3/2000: Simple Robbery—Felony
3/10/2003: Driving While Impaired—Gross Misdemeanor
3/4/2004: Drugs-5th Degree—Felony
