The StarTribune reports:
A young man died at Hennepin County Medical Center following a late-night shooting in Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota on Thursday. It is the 12th homicide in Minneapolis this year.
Minneapolis police received a report of shots fired near the intersection of 27th Ave SE and Delaware Ave SE about 10:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found the young man in a parking lot near the intersection. The juvenile was taken to HCMC, and died a short time later, police said.
Police said that their preliminary investigation shows two groups of people had an altercation prior to the report of shots fired. No one is yet in custody, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department tip line at 612-692-8477.
City records show 2700 Delaware to be part of a complex owned by the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority.
