Always Call 911

Vigilance works again.

Anoka County authorities credit surveillance video and numerous tips for the arrest of two women accused of stealing an SUV from a Columbia Heights gas station while a baby dozed in the back seat.

The women, ages 27 and 22, were arrested without incident at noon today at one of the women's apartments in the 3700 block of 3rd Street NE. in Columbia Heights, said sheriff''s Lt. Paul Sommer.

The women's images blanketed local news media Wednesday after the two drove off with the Jeep Grand Cherokee from Bobby & Steve's Auto World at 37th and Central avenues NE.

We're told to call 911 anytime something seems “fishy”. Give the cops a chance to check it out rather than let crime go unreported. Like this person did:

Police were about to put out an Amber Alert at 1 a.m. when they got a call from a bicyclist who reported a motorist driving recklessly in the vicinity of Hennepin and University avenues in northeast Minneapolis.

Cheers to all the Northeasters who helped bring this baby home!
