1900 Marshall St NE: Employee walking to car on way to bank to deposit company money; 2 suspects wearing ski masks pulled up to victim’s car, punched victim in face, but did succeed in taking cash; suspects fled in vehicle.

Now the commentary—

One wonders if Mr. Ormond wants to pin this heist on the Bottineau residents, too? Or maybe he believes the thugs got away with his dough because the police are incompetent racists?

This shouldn't be happening at a place that hires so many off duty cops and commands the presence of nearly all the Eastside's police resources two nights per week? All the cops are already there, right?

Yes, I'm bitter. And I don't even live within the Gabby's zone of chaos.

Sure, robberies happen everywhere. Is that an excuse? Are we waiting for another killing before we admit that a nightclub use, exhausting 700 feisty and unregulated drunks onto the sleeping neighborhood, does not support the health of a residential community?

Business owners--even bar owners--have rights and deserve protection. But it is tough for me to find sympathy for someone who blatantly disregards the welfare of the place that had allowed him to prosper.
